On Thursday, March 23rd, Madison Fire and EMT in conjunction with the Greenwood County Sherrif’s Office, Greenwood County Emergency Management, and the Kansas Highway Patrol hosted a mock accident for Madison Jr Sr High School Students.
The accident simulated a T Bone crash where victims (student volunteers) played the roles of a drunk driver, driver, and passengers.
Law enforcement prepped students prior to the accident simulation and had a Q and A afterward to work through the typical process for an accident like the one seen.
Special thanks to Madison Fire and EMTs (Dylan, Matthew, Brandon, Corbin, Jacob, and Nathan) Sheriff Heath Samuels, Trooper Gary Boles, Sergeant Cordell, Deputy Cordell, Levi Vinson, and Brian Mongeau.

There will be a mock crash at Madison High School on 3/23/23 around 1pm.

In celebration of Youth Art Month, the Kansas Art Education Association would like to invite you to visit the Kansas Youth Art Month exhibit on display at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library from February 28th to March 25th. Emma Fankhauser will have an artwork displayed at this exhibit.
The first Youth Art Month celebration was started in 1969 by The Council for Art Education to advocate for visual art education. The event emphasized the value of students participating the visual arts. Youth Art Month is celebrated across the nation with art contests, exhibits and special activities.
KAEA has invited art educators from across the state to participate in the celebration by entering one work of art to represent every school. We’ve partnered with The Alice Sabatini Art Gallery, Blick Art Materials and others and will award students scholarships, cash awards, and other prizes.
This year, they added a "People's Choice" vote to the exhibit--all student art included in the YAM exhibit are eligible for awards! Voting will take place February 28th to March 19th and is open to the public.
