
On Monday, October 2nd, Madison 8th and 10th graders traveled to Hartford to participate in Reality U.
Reality U is a real-life simulation that puts students into financial scenarios as if they are 26-year-old adults. They have to make purchases and pay bills, and even return things or get a second job, if necessary, to complete the simulation.

Cross country results from the Council Grove Invitational and highlight of the day: Reece Winder went from 30th place to 20th place to claim the last medal. He did this in the last 800meters of his race and showed some real grit!

4:00 South Court - Olpe C vs. Madison C. (Unofficial Match) This match will stop at 4:40 so the 5 p.m. game will start on time.
5:00 - Olpe vs. Waverly (Both JV and V)
6:00 - Madison vs. Waverly (Both JV and V)
7:00 - Olpe vs. Madison (Both JV and V)

Another great day for the XC team at the Wabaunsee meet. This course was slightly long so times are slower, but the team still ran well. Lily Hudson showed some grit today, passing girls on hills and finishing 5th place with a time of 24:40. One of her best performances of her career yet. Miranda Houston placed 28th with a time of 31:35 and Reece Winder placed 29th with a time of 14:51.

The Madison Bulldogs defeated the Lebo Wolves 62-12 and finished the game after 3 quarters due to the mercy rule. The Bulldogs led 12-6 after 1, 32-12 at the half, and poured on 30 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter to finish the game. Madison opens up a tough district hosting Maranatha Christian Academy (2-1) (KC) next week for Homecoming.

Race times are coming down and one name is moving up to the number 1 spot for the JH boys. Reece Winder broke the school record for the 2 mile yesterday at the Karr Classic Invitational. He placed 8th and ran a time of 14:18. Teammate, Braxton Perry, ran a 17:41 and placed 15th. For HS, Lily Hudson placed 11th with a time of 23:40 in the varsity race and in the JV race, Miranda Houston placed 4th with a time of 29:44.
