Good Evening Bulldog Nation! Tuesday afternoon Madison Elementary had a pep rally to kick off state assessments. It was a blast! Teachers and sixth-grade students competed in a series of games. The sixth-graders won 15 minutes of extra recess for all K-6 students! Needless to say, our students were thrilled.
Our teachers also shared with students the importance of putting forth their best effort on these assessments, as they are one measure of how much students have learned this year. Families can support our students by ensuring they are well-rested each morning and either eat breakfast at home or take advantage of breakfast at school. Dates and times of your students' state assessments can be found on our district Google calendar (linked on the district website and the Bulldog app).

Last Thursday, our Madison Elementary students experienced KSDE's Body Venture Exhibit. We are so grateful to have been able to offer this experience to our MES students. We would not have been able to pull it off without the leadership of our nursing staff, diligence of our high school volunteers and willingness of the Lamont Wesleyan Church men's group volunteers. Thank you to all involved. Just look at those smiles!

Last week our K-12 students spent time in Bulldog Family Groups. These groups are a mix of students from every grade in the district. These groups create opportunities for connection and student leadership. This time they played board games. There was a lot of laughter, learning to be had and memories to be made.

Good afternoon, Bulldog Nation! We would like to congratulate today's Building Bulldog Problem Solving award winner, Ensley Ayala! Mrs. Schankie nominated Ensley for working hard and being strategic in catching up on her absent work. Catching up on schoolwork can be tricky! Great job problem-solving, Ensley!
Our local sponsor for this week's award is Kim Gaines Design and Photography. She funded a $5 Casey's giftcard for Ensley. If you or your business would like to sponsor Building Bulldogs, please stop by MES and speak with Mrs. Engle. Our students are proud of their community and honored to be sponsored by people and businesses that they know. Thank you!
