Wednesday, the junior high quiz bowl team competed in the Burlingame junior high meet. The varsity team took second place. Team members are: Charlie Kingery, Nathan Hind, Hunter Martin, Carver McDonald, and Owen Inman.

Our students headed to the Wrangler Rally at Flint Hills Technical College to dive into the world of Health & Human Services! By exploring programs like Nursing and Emergency Services through hands-on demonstrations, we are helping every student find their future path.
Mr. Redeker's Medical Studies and A & P classes took their annual trip to Emporia State University to attend an Anatomy and Physiology lecture. After the lecture, students toured the cadaver lab.
This experience directly supports students' postsecondary goals by providing high-rigor, real-world application of their studies. It transforms abstract curriculum into a tangible career pathway, fostering both the academic readiness and professional maturity required for future success in the health sciences.

USD #386 will hold its Early Learning Development Screening on Thursday, March 26.
Children who may be attending the Early Learning 3 Year Old Program at Madison Elementary School during the 2026-2027 school year, incoming Early Learning 4 year olds, or incoming Kindergarten students who have not previously attended USD #386 Early Learning programs are advised to attend this screening as part of the pre-enrollment process.
Please note:
*There will be no school for PreK 3 or PreK 4 students on March 26.
*Kindergarten students will also be out of school on March 26 due to Kindergarten Round-Up.

Madison junior high quiz bowl varsity team took 1st place at the home league meet today. Team members are Charlie Kingery, Nathan Hind, Atley Grimmett, Hunter Martin and Carver McDonald.
The Madison forensic team competed in their first meet yesterday at Northern Heights. Our team this year has one returning member from last year and three new participants. We had 2 teams competing in IDA, Hallie and Sadie Davis and Emma and Tess Fankhauser. Emma Fankhauser also competed in the Impromptu category. The Fankhauser team made it to finals and took a 4th place medal overall. Emma Fankhauser also placed 3rd in the impromptu devision, bringing home a bronze medal.

Last Tuesday, our Madison Elementary spellers participated in our Greenwood County Spelling Bee. Hadley Fox, Logan Fankhauser, Brynn Hamilton, Raleigh Hamilton, Huxley Bellinder, Emily Thompson, Ellie Preeo, and Laikyn Henke represented our district well!
In one of the early rounds of the spelling bee, our MES spellers accounted for five of the nine remaining spellers. Laikyn Henke went on to earn top honors at the bee and act as our county alternate in the state spelling bee. Way to go girls! Those Sonic slushies were well-earned.
