A massive congratulations to Madison High School’s very own Sadie Davis for being named a Kansas Business Hall of Fame essay recipient! Sadie is 1 of only 5 students selected statewide in Kansas for this prestigious honor.
Along with this well-deserved recognition, Sadie has been awarded a $500 scholarship for her outstanding essay.
Sadie, your hard work, dedication, and sharp insight have made all of us at Madison High incredibly proud. We can't wait to see where your business savvy takes you next!

Happy School Nurse Appreciation Day!
Today we are celebrating the two women who take such amazing care of our students and staff, Nurse Julie and Nurse Deb!

We are so grateful for all that they do to keep our Bulldog family healthy and smiling.

Good afternoon, Bulldog Nation!
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are honored to work alongside a staff of educators who meet each day with energy, flexibility, and care.
Any time we step into classrooms, it’s a highlight. We see students discussing challenging ideas, creating imaginative presentations, and making meaningful connections in their learning. Those moments don’t happen by accident- our teachers put in the time and effort, much of it behind the scenes, to make them possible.
We’re grateful for the steady presence our teachers are for our students and for the way they keep showing up, no matter what the day brings.
Thank you, teachers!

We have so many fun and important events coming up at Madison Elementary School!
Students brought home a flyer last week with all the details, but we wanted to share it here too so everyone stays in the loop. It's a busy and exiting time at MES.

Big news! Three of our amazing students have been awarded the prestigious Hagan Scholarship! Known for its focus on "helping students graduate debt-free," this scholarship recognizes those who excel academically and demonstrate a strong work ethic. In addition to tuition support, these students will receive personal brokerage accounts and travel opportunities to prepare them for life after college. Congratulations to our 2026 Hagan Scholars: Sadie, Reese, and Bayleigh!
Senior Emma Fankhauser capped off an impressive high school forensics career today, leaving it all on the stage at the McPherson 1A State Championship. Emma's sharp wit and quick thinking earned her a spot as a State Semi-finalist in the Impromptu Speech category—a fitting finale for a dedicated competitor.
Emma wasn't alone in her quest for excellence. A talented squad represented the school with pride, competing across both Improvised Duet Acting (IDA)and Impromptu:
* Tess Fankhauser
* Hallie Davis
* Sadie Davis
* Zoaie Quintana
* Mason Martin
Whether they were crafting hilarious scenes on the fly or tackling complex prompts with seconds to prepare, these students showed incredible poise under the bright lights of state competition.
Congratulations to Emma and the entire team on a fantastic season!

Happy Principal Appreciation Day to the leaders who keep our schools running strong!
From early morning greetings to late afternoon problem-solving, our principals do it all with heart, dedication, and a whole lot of care for our students and staff.
Because of you, our Bulldogs are supported, inspired, and set up for success every single day.
We appreciate you!

Today we celebrate the amazing team behind the scenes who keep our Bulldogs fueled and ready to learn!
Our incredible lunch heroes work hard every day to serve meals with care, kindness, and a smile.
They do so much more than prepare food. They create a welcoming space where students feel cared for and supported.
Thank you, School Lunch Heroes, for all you do for our Bulldog family.

Congratulations to Caylin Luthi and Octavian Dean for being awarded Sportswoman and Sportsman for 2026!

Congratulations to our newest members of the National Honor Society! These students have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. We are so proud of your hard work and look forward to the impact you'll continue to make on our campus and in our community.

Celebrating the end of the year with our SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) prize giveaway!
While we loved seeing so many winners today, our final surveys showed a district-wide seatbelt usage rate of 76.14%. This is a dip from previous years, and we know we can do better together.
Wearing a seatbelt is the simplest and most effective way to protect yourself and your passengers. It’s more than just a rule—it’s a choice that saves lives every single day. Let’s finish the year strong and make sure everyone buckles up, every trip, every time.

A big thank you to our PAWS for making our Sponsor-a-Reader program so special for our MES students. Because of your generosity, every student gets to head home with a brand new book of their own, and that’s something they truly look forward to.
The excitement in the building on delivery day is hard to beat. Between visits from the book fairy and our Bulldog mascot, it turns into a moment our kids won’t forget. Seeing each student proudly holding their new book says it all.
We are grateful for the continued support you give our school and our students. It makes a difference every single day.

Today's high school track meet at Council Grove has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Good morning, Bulldog Nation! Today, we would like to recognize our administrative professionals. They keep our district running every single day, and we want to take a moment to highlight just how important they are to our schools and offices.
Our administrative assistants are often the first people families see or talk to, and they handle that role with professionalism, patience, and care. They answer phones, support staff and students, manage schedules, keep things organized, and solve problems as they come up. They do all of this while making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed and supported.
We are grateful for the consistency, attention to detail, and commitment they bring to their work. They are a steady presence in our buildings and a key part of what makes our district function so well.

On Tuesday, March 31, we hosted our Second Annual STEM Night. It was such a great evening for our school and community. We loved seeing so many of our students and families come out to explore, learn, and have fun together through hands-on STEM activities.
STEM Night is one of those events that really brings people together. It’s a chance for our kids to try new things, ask questions, and see learning come to life, all while connecting with the people and organizations that support them every day.
We’re so grateful to the many community members and organizations who gave their time to make the night possible: Christine Inman from the Madison Public Library, Paul and Patti Clark, the Greenwood County Cattlewomen, the Madison Fire Department, Phil Taunton, Levi and April Seaton, Tacie and Levi Hadden, Thomas Scott, Mike and Taylor Cordell from the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office, Sam and Greg Davis, Payton King, Sara Martin, Madison American Legion Post #124, the Madison Lions Club, and the MJHHS FFA.
It meant a lot to see families learning side by side, our students stepping out of their comfort zones, and our community showing up in such a strong way. We’re proud of our school and very thankful for the people who continue to support it. Thanks again to everyone who helped make the night so special.
