Food Service during homebound learning Wednesday, 12/15 through Friday, 12/17:
Free breakfast and lunch will be offered for pick up during the following three days of homebound learning. These will be cold meals similar to those served during the initial remote learning of Spring 2020 (milk, juice, yogurt, cereal, sandwiches, carrots, etc.)
In order to prepare enough meals, we ask that parents or guardians either call or email with how many breakfasts and lunches they will need to pick up each day. Please have your counts relayed to the school by noon the previous day.
Wednesday breakfast and lunch requests in by noon today for pick up at 9 AM Wednesday.
Thursday breakfast and lunch requests in by noon Wednesday for pick up at 9 AM Thursday.
Friday breakfast and lunch requests in by noon Thursday for pick up at 9 AM Friday.
You may also make all of your meal requests by noon today, although they will have to be picked up each day and not all at once.
Contact Dacia Brandt, Food Service Director, at the elementary via phone or email with ALL student meal requests,
620-437-2918 or dbrandt@usd386.net.
Due to lack of available staffing and student coverage related to Covid-19 cases, we will be switching to homebound learning beginning Wednesday, December 15th to Friday, December 17th. Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 14th, we will conduct school as normal. Close contacts will still need to be tested prior to school and we encourage students who are exhibiting any covid-19 symptoms to stay home. Also on Tuesday, teachers will be sending home learning packets with the students for Wednesday-Friday. Information regarding how to contact a teacher for assistance will be sent home along with the packet.
ELC will be closed Wednesday-Friday, but will reopen on Monday, December 20th.
Flint Hills Tech Students will have classes and transportation will be provided at its usual time.
This was a very difficult decision to make. We know the strain that this puts on our parents and community. The recent increase in positive covid-19 cases in our district has had a major impact on the amount of staff needed to conduct daily school operations. We want to thank you for your understanding and continued support of USD 386. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Stephen Jowers at sjowers@usd386.net or (620) 437-2918.

MHS students got the chance to attend the Wrangler Rally today. They helped prepare Thanksgiving dishes in the Culinary Arts kitchen and printed their own Graphic Arts Rally shirts. We even got to see Madison Senior and FHTC Culinary Art student, Karsten White, helping out during the event.

Freshmen FFA members traveled to Girard on Friday for the SED Leadership School. They competed in the Greenhand division for Ritual Demonstration and the Information test, where they placed 6th out of 18 teams! Not too bad for deciding just the week prior that they wanted to go! This was the first time these members got to zip up their new jackets and represent their chapter, and they did an outstanding job!
