The Kansas State Department of Education held its annual fall conference in Wichita November 4-6.  This year's conference "The Future's So Bright..."  featured speakers from across the state on a multitude of topics.

USD 386 educators: Jeanna Scheve, Martie Helm, Jacy McIntosh, Janell Curry, Shannon Disch, and Kay Hill gave a presentation entitled "Project Based Learning in the Common Core with the iPad."

In this session they shared experiences about the ways that the iPad has become an essential part of Project Based Learning in the Common Core.  They also shared apps used, projects completed, successes achieved and challenges faced in the implementation.  This approach takes the teacher from a director of learning to a facilitator of learning all while increasing student engagement.  Effective teaching and learning with iPads integrates technology into the curriculum anytime, anywhere.
