MJH and MES Students Place at Robotics Competition

      Kinsey and Hunter participated in the annual Burlington Robotics Olympics on Wednesday, February 26.  133 elementary and middle school students from 21 schools competed in seven events throughout the morning.  These included Ratio Run, Maze, Capture the Flag, 25 ‘ Run, 100 ‘ Run, Sumo-bot Tournament and Capture the Flag Tournament.

      Kinsey and Hunter built their robots using Lego Mindstorms Robotic Kits.  Learning to program the robot was mastered and the students then worked on programming for each individual event. 

    Kinsey was named overall Robotic Champion for the Olympics for highest points earned in all events.    She placed second in the 100’ Run, her robot ran a 75’ path then had to turn 90 degrees left and continue another 25’.  She also placed third in the Ratio Run.  Hunter brought home a third place in the 25’ Run.
