Through the M.I.L.E.S. program students in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades will have the option at recess time to accumulate laps around the recess playing area to earn a "foot.  A "foot" is a charm that students can earn as a token of their accomplishments.  4 laps equals 1 mile, 1 mile equals one "foot.” After a student has earned their fourth "foot" (4 miles) their next mile will earn them a chain to hang them on.  They can continue earning "feet" as well as other awards and prizes.

The goal of this program is to introduce students to running as an enjoyable hobby; to set attainable goals and work to reach them and to experience the great feeling of accomplishing a goal set forth. We are very proud of our MILES members, which includes 52 active recess runners at this time!
