Seniors Braxton Butler and Tyler Farthing received the Kansas State High School Activities Association Citizenship award at the Lions Club Academic / Athletic Banquet Monday evening. The KSHSAA Citizenship Award is voted upon by the Madison High School faculty and recognizes one graduating male and one graduating female student who have proven to be the most outstanding citizens in their school.  Respect, Responsibility, and Reverence are all areas that are considered when selecting the candidates.

Tyler also received the Dale Dennis Award. The Dale M. Dennis Excellence in Education Award was established in 1996 by Kansas school administrators to honor the long and valuable services that Dale Dennis has provided to Kansas education.  The individual attributes that characterize Dale M. Dennis as a friend of education, and more importantly as a first class citizen, are the basis for determining the award.  Dale Dennis continues to serve as the Deputy Commissioner of the Kansas State Department of Education.  Recipients of this award are identified in high schools throughout the state as individuals who have displayed citizenship, community service, and common sense characteristics that make them a quality individual

Braxton plans to attend Kansas State University in the fall and major in Animal Science.  Tyler also plans to attend Kansas State University in the fall and will major in Nuclear Engineering.

Congratulations and best of luck next year!  Go Cats!
